About swirlability

swirlability is an experimental project. It’s an excuse for me to start writing again. I’ll also be attempting to create a branded image, in my own small way, and explore the difficulties and opportunities of getting a core image across in the media-saturated, utterly distracted society OF THE FUTURE (imagine Futurama when you read this).

Without a doubt Melbourne as a city is going to feature promiently throughout this blog. Festivals too. This is directly related to my complete love and adoration of this fabulous town and our fetish for event/artistic culture. Really, it’s great. I may occasionally make subtle disparaging comments about other Australian cities, but please keep in mind that these cities can never be completely satisfying as they’re not Melbourne. Their very non-Melbourneness is their downfall. Be prepared, my opinions may be biased.

I’ve worked and volunteered across festivals for 5 years. I’ll be doing it for many years more. I must know how they tick, like a science-class dissection. Guts and everything.
